Panel Discussion with former East German Dissident Artists

This special event will feature a short film and discussion with the artists of Breakthrough Art Organization’s inaugural event “Breakthrough! Twenty Years After German Unification: Critical Perspectives of Berlin Artists.” The German artists will tell their stories of making artwork under the repressive regime of former East Germany. Their stories will touch on important human issues of courage, freedom, creativity, protest, compassion and survival. Join us for this special evening – free and open to the public.
