7th Annual Snowmass Village Poker Run On Valentine's Day
Is 7 your lucky number? It may be this Sunday, February 14, as the 7th annual Snowmass Village Rotary Club's Poker Run will be held at the Snowmass ski area. This is a fun way for the whole family to give back to the community while spending the day skiing in Snowmass. At the Poker Run event, tickets can be purchased for $10 a piece or three tickets for $25. The participant then skis around and collects five poker cards, one from each of the five on-mountain restaurants. The best poker hand at the end of the day wins. For those that don't ski or don't have the time to ski that day, one can buy tickets outside the Snowmass Center Village Market on Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13 (11-1 p.m. or 4-6 p.m.) and have a poker hand drawn at that time. The Snowmass Mall’s Daly Bottle Shop and Grain Fine Food, Village Center’s Sundance Liquor and Gifts store and the Viceroy Hotel will also be selling tickets throughout this week. The best 15 poker hands win prizes and normal poker rules apply.
"On Sunday, people can buy poker tickets from dealers at the end of the Snowmass Mall at the Office at Cirque Restaurant and Bar, in front of Sneaky's Restaurant in Base Village or on-mountain at any of the restaurants from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.," said Randy Woods, Snowmass Village Rotary Club event chairman. "You don't have to be present to play or win, and the prizes will be awarded at the Office at Cirque that afternoon at 4 p.m. All of the proceeds go toward supporting local nonprofit organizations and to help with our international humanitarian projects including our work in Haiti."
The Poker Run event is hosted by the Snowmass Village Rotary Club and participating sponsors this year include: Daly Bottle Shop and Grain Fine Food, Challenge Aspen, Howard Rudge, Randy Woods, Scott Sigler, Merrill Bradley and Allen H. Adger, P.C.-Attorney.
The best poker hand this year will win a two-night stay for two people at the Viceroy Hotel Snowmass with spa services and dinner included. Other prizes include: a weekend stay in the White Mountains of New Hampshire at a two-bedroom condominium during the third week of September; a round of golf including a cart at the Snowmass Club (four winners!); a pair of skis from Snowmass Sports; a weekend pass to this year's Snowmass Chili Brew Fest (two winners!), a 20-day pass to the Town of Snowmass Village's Rec. Center; a $100 gift certificate from Aspen Sports, and gift certificates from Gwyn's High Alpine Restaurant, Il Poggio and Mountain Dragon.
So try your hand at poker with the Snowmass Village Rotary Club this Sunday on Valentine's Day at the Snowmass ski area. It's a great chance to win a fabulous prize and raise some money for the Snowmass Village Rotary Club's invaluable local and international programs.
