The Elk Camp gondola now runs in summer seven days a week with the lift going to the top of the ridge Friday through Sunday delivering over 3,000 vertical feet of an unbeatable mountain network of trails. A five-acre terrain course offers downhill thrills, jumps and berms to test your skill level. Head to the Discovery Zone located at the end of the Snowmass Village Mall. Hiking

There is no better place to experience Colorado hiking than on Snowmass Mountain. Try a short hike on the Ditch Trail for an amazing view of the Snowmass Creek Valley or explore the KAR Trail from top of the to Sam’s Knob Lift down to Burlingame Lift. The new Bear Claw Trail connects West Government and the Ditch Trail. Next summer, the new Cross Mountain Trail will be completed linking the Uhlrhof Restaurant area and Elk Camp/East Government area. ACES On-Mountain Nature Hikes

Enjoy an easy two-hour guided walk along the gentle, kid-friendly Snowmass Nature Trail. A naturalist from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) shares tips on wildflowers, animal tracks and birds.
Elk Camp Gondola and Chairlift at Snowmass

Offered daily, you – and your bike! – can ride the Elk Camp Gondola to mid-mountain reaching nearly 10,000 feet and enjoy miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. ACES nature walks, disc golf, climbing wall, fishing and special programs offered for adults. Friday through Sunday, take the Elk Camp lift to the 11,300-foot summit where you can soak up breathtaking views of the famed Maroon Bells or enjoy a hike back down to the Elk Camp Gondola on our new Summit trail. Lunch is available on-mountain at Elk Camp Cafe. Mountain bikes are available for rent at Gene Taylor Sports, Blazing Adventures, Aspen Sports and Four-Mountain Sports. And be sure to take advantage of the FREE parking in the base village parking garage and numbered lots near the mall all summer!
