Happy Thanksgiving
What a great Thanksgiving Weekend it has started out to be. Even though our snow pack has been limited our snowmakers have been diligent in their efforts to make snow. With the cold temperatures and some help from Mother Nature Snowmass and Aspen Mountain were able to open for the season on Thanksgiving Day.
Our snowmakers deserve a great big thank you as they log many long and chilly hours working to get the mountains ready for our guests. They continue to work hard preparing for the 2007 Aspen Winternational FIS Women's World Cup. Aspen will roll out the red carpet December 7-9 as we welcome the best and fastest women that skiing has to offer. This year's event will feature both speed and technical races, including the first women's downhill in Aspen in nearly 20 years, along with super G and slalom races. The legendary jam band Blues Traveler will kick off this season's first Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series on Saturday, December 8. The free performance will take place at the base of Aspen Mountain during the Aspen Winternational Audi FIS Women's Alpine Ski World Cup races. The races will be the focal point of a weekend packed with additional events gondola plaza festivals, fireworks and parties.
