The Golden Leaf Half Marathon — a scenic race traversing the mountains between Snowmass and Aspen — returns for its 29th year on Saturday. The event is part of the Vasque and Gore Tex North American Trail Tour. The 13.3-mile race begins at 8:30 a.m. from the Snowmass Village.

While preparing my team of skiers for another day on the hill I was curious to see a couple walk past me and snap on their "skinny" skate skis. These two were obviously on a mission. Their skins were already mounted as they simply walked out to Fanny Hill, dropped their skis and prepared for their ascent. Since they were standing right next to me I couldn't help to overhear what the man said to his partner before starting off. "Ok last one." This peaked my curiosity even more and begged the question.

We're all fired up here in Snowmass as the snow continues to fall and we're enjoying an incredible winter filled with glorious snow, sweet turns, great events and fabulous music. February will bring the North Mississippi Allstars to Snowmass and we've just learned that we'll have Dr. John and the Neville Brothers to start off our summer of music in June for the 5th Annual Chili Pepper and Brew Fest!

Friday, November 23 beginning at 5pm. This delightful selection of short films is suitable for children ages 4-10 years old.

The 2007 Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brew Fest was epic. Beginning with David Grisman & Del McCoury's unbelievable set followed by their encore that proved to be one of the best musical moments ever in Snowmass.
